Simon Antoine Joins Sofitel New York as General Manager

Simon Antoine is heading back to Accor where he began his career in 1985, joining Sofitel New York as its new general manager. The hotelier brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to the Midtown Manhattan hotel, along with expertise in the food and beverage domain. His previously worked in a two-year tenure as opening general manager at the InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf.

Antoine started at Accor in 1985 and worked several positions in the United States, Great Britain, France and the Ivory Coast in the span of 14 years. He then joined InterContinental Hotels in 1998 where he served as the director of food and beverage at Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and in 2000 he relocated to London as food and beverage manager at the InterContinental Park Lane. Then, in 2004, Antoine returned to the U.S. and took his role to the InterContinental Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. Antoine accepted his first general manager role in 2011 at the InterContinental Toronto, Yorkville, and in 2015, he went back to New York as general manager of the InterContinental Times Square, where he previously served as hotel manager.

Accor also recently appointed Emlyn Brown as vice president, wellbeing for AccorHotels’ Luxury and Upper Upscale brands. Brown brings more than 20 years of international experience in his role, having begun his wellness career in 1996.
