Since mid-January, Chase and Marriott have been offering increased bonuses on two popular co-branded cards. The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card and Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card are offering welcome bonuses of 100K and 50K points, respectively.

If you’ve been considering one of these cards but haven’t yet applied, this is your last chance to do so — the deals are set to expire on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, so you have just a couple of days left to apply.

Let’s take a look at the basics of these offers and cards:

Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card 100K bonus

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card is offering a bonus of 100,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after spending $5,000 within three months. As a point of comparison, the bonus was previously for 75,000 points, so that’s quite an improvement.

The card has a $95 annual fee, and offers lots of great perks, including:

  • A free anniversary night every year, valid at a property costing up to 35,000 points per night
  • 15 elite nights towards status annually
  • Silver Elite status for as long as you have the card
  • Gold Elite status when you spend $35,000 on the card in an account year
  • Premium wifi at Marriott properties

In my opinion the card can be well worth it for the anniversary free night certificate alone, which more than justifies the annual fee. For example, I recently used this at The Langley, a Luxury Collection property outside of London.

The cash rate would have been about $480.

Meanwhile I could use a certificate here from a $95 annual fee card, since a stay only costs 30,000 points.

Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card 50K bonus

The no annual fee Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card is offering a bonus of 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after spending $2,000 within three months. As a point of comparison, the bonus was previously for 30,000 points, so that’s quite an improvement.

Since this is a no annual fee card the benefits aren’t quite as robust, but there are still some good reasons to have this. The card:

  • Earns 3x points for spending at Marriott properties
  • Earns 2x points for all other travel purchases
  • Offers 15 elite nights towards status annually

That last point is by far the best benefit, since this no annual fee card can help you a lot with earning Marriott status.

This card could be worth it if you’re not a huge Marriott loyalist, though personally I think the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card is well worth the $95 annual fee for the anniversary free night certificate.

Bottom line

The limited time increased bonuses on the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card and Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card are set to expire on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Both of these are among the best bonuses we’ve seen on the cards, so if you’ve been considering one of these, I’d highly recommend applying now.

Neither is a card I’d recommend using for everyday spending, but they absolutely can be worth having:

  • Getting 15 elite nights towards status for having a no annual fee card is awesome
  • Getting an anniversary free night valid at a property costing up to 35,000 points on a $95 annual fee card can get you outsized value

Anyone plan to pick up these cards with their increased bonuses before they expire in a couple of days?
