For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases, the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

We’re now seeing a new Amex Offers deal for one of my favorite companies for airport pickups, Blacklane.

Save On Your Next Blacklane Ride With Amex Offers

At the moment there’s a new targeted Amex Offer for $20 back when you spend $100+ with Blacklane:

  • You must spend $100 in a single transaction
  • This is valid through August 13, 2020
  • The purchase must be made in USD, EUR, GBP, NZD or SEK

Why I Like Blacklane

Tiffany first wrote about Blacklane in 2016, and I started using them in 2018. Blacklane essentially allows you to book a traditional high-end car service all over the globe online (or through their app).

The idea is that unlike with Lyft or Uber, you’re actually ordering a ride in advance, and if you’re being picked up at the airport they’ll be waiting for you in the arrivals hall.

I use Blacklane under very specific circumstances, and find them to be well worth it:

  • If I’m arriving in a city where Lyft/Uber can’t do airport pick-ups, or where the logistics of being picked up are just too complicated
  • If I’m arranging a transfer for my parents, since it just makes life so much easier

Obviously Blacklane isn’t cheap, but I find it to be money well spent. When I land off a long haul flight, ordering a Blacklane assures I’ll have a driver who shows up on time, drives responsibly, and I’ll be able to work in the back seat, which often isn’t the case if you’re using a taxi.

Bottom Line

This new Amex Offers deal for Blacklane has the potential to be valuable. The catch is that you have to spend $100 in a single transaction to take advantage of this.

I’m sure this will come in handy for me at some point, especially as the promotion is valid for about six months.
