We’re in the fifth and final week of Daily Getaways, which is an opportunity to purchase discounted hotel points and travel packages. Daily Getaways go live at 1PM ET every weekday, and the more popular packages sell out very quickly, so you’ll want to be fast, if interested.
Today at 1PM ET you’ll have the opportunity to purchase discounted World of Hyatt points. Let me say up front that this is probably the most popular Daily Getaways promotion, and it literally sells out in no time. So really this is more of a lottery than anything else. Even if you are on the website exactly at the second the promotion starts, you’re still likely to see all the packages are already sold out.
What Hyatt points packages are on sale?
The following Hyatt points packages are on sale today:

You’re limited to purchasing one of each type of package, and points will be deposited into your World of Hyatt account within 10 business days.
The prices and types of packages available are identical to last year. As you can see, there are a total of 228 packages on sale, and points range in cost from 1.04-1.1 cents each. Personally I value World of Hyatt points at ~1.5 cents each, so this is like buying them for just under a third off.

As you can see, at a cost of 1.1 cents per point or less, this is an opportunity to purchase a night at Hyatt’s cheapest hotels for $55, or a night at their top tier Category 7 hotels for $330, both of which are great deals (Category 8 is reserved for select SLH properties).

While there’s obviously a lot of demand for these packages, the real problem is that people are using bots to buy these, so that’s why these often sell out right away. I don’t understand why Daily Getaways doesn’t add some sort of a CAPTCHA to prevent this.
I guess they don’t have much of an incentive to make sure these are bought fair and square, as long as they sell out. So if you do decide to buy one of these packages, definitely approach this as more of a lottery than an actual guaranteed way to buy Hyatt points at a good price.
Which credit card should you use for Daily Getaways?
In case you do decide to make a purchase, Daily Getaways purchases should be coded as travel, so you’ll want to use a credit card offering bonus points on travel.
Note that this includes the general “travel” category, rather than these purchases specifically being coded as hotel stays.
So consider one of the following cards:
